Humberside Police: Serving our communities to make them safer and stronger.

Established in Spring 2008, The Community Safety Volunteer Scheme is operated from the Humberside Police Community Safety Unit. It encompasses all Humberside Police and Fire and Rescue Volunteers across Hull, East Yorkshire and the Northern Lincolnshire area.

The aim of this partnership volunteer scheme is to encourage those living and working in the local area, to use their skills and experience to assist and support Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers, Special Constables, support staff and Fire service personnel in their daily business.

Volunteers are integral to the organisation, helping us to achieve strategic priorities and empowering our local communities. Last year, our volunteers contributed more than 9,000 hours to the service and have already surpassed 4,000 duty hours this year.

At Humberside Police, our volunteers have helped to deliver safe-and-well letters to vulnerable people, volunteered at vaccination centres on the front line of the Covid-19 Pandemic, packed over 6,000 activity packs for children, assisted Neighbourhood Policing Teams through leaflet drops, role-played in the training of police officers, and in addition to working closely with units such as force control and the rural task force to make a positive difference to our community.
