NHS Humber is a leading provider of integrated health care services across Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire, Whitby, Scarborough, and Ryedale. Our services include a variety of community and inpatient mental health services, learning disability services, healthy lifestyle support and addictions services. We also deliver specialist services for children, including mental health services, physiotherapy, and speech and language therapy.

Volunteers are an important part of our NHS Foundation Trust; supporting us to achieve our vision of being a caring organisation, which keeps people at the heart of everything we do.

Joining our organisation as a volunteer is a great way to learn new skills, gain new experiences and improve your own wellbeing whilst supporting our patients, carers and staff. We value the time, commitment and enthusiasm our volunteers bring to our Trust and the difference they each make.

All of our volunteer roles are non-clinical (including mental and physical health). Working with our volunteers offers teams a fresh set of special skills and talents which help to enhance our patient activity programmes.

Some of the regular roles that are available include:

  • Drivers (using minibus or own car)
  • Activity Coordinator Support volunteers (Inpatient Units)
  • Therapeutic group helpers
  • Recovery & Wellbeing College roles
  • Administration
  • and many more opportunities….
