Dave Thompson, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
Dave, a 90-year-old Hull lad, has been a fundraiser and supporter of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People since 1992.
After retiring from his engineering career, he and his late wife Sheila, founded the Hull Fundraising Group for the charity. Dave has delivered over 1,200 talks, raising over £200,000. Dave’s efforts have been vital supporting the training of hearing dogs, providing essential assistance and companionship to deaf individuals. Known for his lively presentations, he has even donned mascot suits for fundraising.
His contributions have profoundly impacted the charity and its beneficiaries.
