Young Volunteer - Annie Gawthorpe age 10

Annie has been raising funds for Together for Short Lives. She has organised raffles, bingo nights, and coffee mornings, sells her own chicken eggs, and has even donated her pocket money. Annie also wrote to local parish councils to help collect 100 Easter eggs for children at St Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby, alongside purchasing toys from their Amazon wishlist.

Annie gives her time and energy every day, managing her own social media to promote her fundraising. She completed a 99,000-step challenge in a week. Despite her busy schedule with dance and gymnastics, she consistently finds time to volunteer.

She’s raised over £6,000 through her JustGiving page and contributed additional donations through sponsored challenges and gifts. The teams at Together for Short Lives and St Andrew’s Hospice have been overwhelmed by her dedication. Annie and her mother, Sarah, have even joined hospice staff and children in the Cleethorpes Carnival.

Annie's work has been featured in the Hornsea Community Paper, and charity staff are deeply moved by her contributions. Holding the title of Little Miss Teen East Yorkshire, Annie discovered the charity and has since committed to ongoing support.
