Margaret Webster, Hull Women’s Aid

Margaret volunteers at Hull Women’s Aid Refuge, dedicating her time to nurturing the youngest children there.

She brings snacks, home-baked goods, and special toys, enhancing the children’s experience. Arriving early, Margaret helps set up, runs sessions, and tidies up, ensuring she is informed about each child’s needs. During school holidays, she joins day trips, thoughtfully bringing items like buckets or muffins. Volunteering twice a week, she averages 7 hours weekly since May 2023. Margaret also volunteers at Reuniform, sorting used school uniforms.

Her warm presence provides comfort and continuity for families in trauma, acting as a surrogate grandmother.
