Inclusive - Gary Davies (Little Victories In The Community)

Gary is a dedicated and inspiring volunteer who has devoted his time and passion to making football inclusive and accessible for all, particularly young people with disabilities. As the driving force behind Little Victories FC—a cerebral palsy-specific community football club—and a volunteer coach for Barton Athletic’s Pan Disability Adult Team, Gary creates safe, supportive environments where players of all abilities can thrive. His leadership, coaching, and mentorship extend beyond sport, fostering confidence, respect, and belonging among participants.

Born with acute cerebral palsy and a former captain of the England Cerebral Palsy football team, Gary brings unparalleled experience and empathy to his volunteer work. Having represented his country internationally, he now channels his resilience and passion into grassroots clubs and schools, inspiring others with his personal story and commitment to breaking down barriers for people with disabilities.

Gary’s impact is profound: he adapts training to meet individual needs, mentors young athletes with compassion, and promotes a culture of inclusion and empowerment. His recent completion of the Swaledale Marathon to raise awareness and funds for Little Victories FC exemplifies his determination and serves as a powerful motivation to those he supports. Gary’s work not only develops football skills but also nurtures self-belief and community spirit.

The team at Little Victories FC expresses heartfelt gratitude to Gary for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and unwavering belief in every player. His passion and commitment make him a truly deserving nominee for Inclusive Volunteer of the Year, embodying the transformative power of sport and community.
