Hull’s Next Young Mayor Selection Process

After a stunning 15 months of working with the Young Mayor Campaigners to ‘Challenge Racism in Schools through Positivity and Kindness’, Amelia Franczak’s term will come to an end this November and we are now seeking to find the next Young Mayor for Hull.

We thank Amelia and the Campaigners for their commitment and will support their legacy to continue, and look forward to supporting the next young person in this role and their campaign team.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is aged 13-17.
  • lives in Hull
  • is enthusiastic
  • is committed & prepared to give the role some of their time
  • has an interest in issues affecting young people
  • is able to listen and respect the views of others.
  • takes their responsibilities seriously and has a sense of duty
  • is confident and can communicate effectively in public
  • likes meeting others.
  • wants to be the face of young people in Hull

Could this be you or someone you know?

Attached is the Young Mayor Application form.

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to Kingston Youth Centre where you will meet other young people who have applied for the role. During this session you will:

  • Take part in a group activity
  • Deliver a two min speech – you will get help with this on the day
  • Have fun
  • And we will eat lunch together

If you are not successful you will be invited to join the Young Mayor on their Whistle-Stop Tour of activities across the City.
