“I got involved with the Get Going Grant and bringing Tennis back to Withernsea, not just because I like to play, but also a town the size of Withernsea warrants public courts for residents to use and enjoy!

Since starting the tennis group I have become more active. Liaising with representatives at the lawn tennis and bowls club and attending the site where the tennis courts used to be, has given me an insight into bowls. My partner and I have since joined the bowls club.

It has given me the opportunity to meet new people who have similar interests.

"Starting the tennis group has motivated me to push to get the Art Club back together, which has struggled to find affordable premises and hasn't met since before Covid.

I would encourage anyone to become more active. It is a great way to meet new people. While it can be daunting to join an already established group, we are a friendly bunch and would welcome all newcomers!”
