The BBC Radio Humberside Making a Difference Awards 2024 are back, celebrating the unsung heroes and heroines who selflessly dedicate themselves to improving their communities.

Nominations are currently open, offering a platform to recognise individuals and groups who go above and beyond to make life better for others.

From volunteers lending their time to fundraisers going the extra mile, the awards encompass various categories including the Volunteer Award, Community Award, Fundraiser Award, Great Neighbour Award, Carer Award, Bravery Award, Green Award, and The Animal Award.

The awards have been a staple for several years, typically held in September, bringing together communities and acknowledging those who make a significant impact.

Anyone can nominate a community champion for these prestigious awards.

Nominations are open until Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 11pm. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges, with awards presented across each local BBC radio station.

As you consider your nominations, remember that your nominee's story could also be a fitting entry for Smile's Time2Volunteer Awards 2024 in October!

By nominating someone for the BBC Radio Humberside Making a Difference Awards, you're not only recognising their efforts, but also potentially setting the stage for further acknowledgment of their contributions to community welfare.

Let's unite to celebrate those truly making a difference in our communities.
