As part of the Hull CVS 40 Year Celebration, the CVS Group staff are volunteering for 4 amazing local organisations.

Natalie Norton, Volunteer Manager explains:

We know Employer Supported Volunteering can hugely contribute to the success of local voluntary projects, and we want to get involved. Starting on the 10th of October the Hull CVS staff team will be split into groups who each day will take on a new volunteer challenge.

Our week begins with the PATT Foundation who have tasked our staff with planting, sowing and harvesting crops, as well as taking part in hand tool maintenance activities. Our staff will be contributing to the amazing work PATT do every day, changing the world one tree at a time! You can find out more about the PATT Foundation, as well as their volunteer activities here: https://pattfoundation.org/

Tuesday sees the team head over to Dove House Hospice’s donation and distribution warehouse. The group will be assisting the warehouse team with sorting and moving donated stock. The stock once sold in their retail shops will raise money for their amazing hospice care. To find out more, visit the organisation here: https://www.dovehouse.org.uk/join-our-team/volunteer/

Midweek we’re hoping across to Hull Afro Caribbean Association who need support sprucing up their building which hosts numerous events to promote community integration, cohesion and community spirit. The team will be getting their paint brushes out to ensure HACA’s rooms are worthy of the fabulous work they do. To find out more, see here https://hullafrocaribbean.wordpress.com/

The final day of our outings will be hosted by Humber All Nations Alliance. The charity, who promote the well-being of BME and migrant communities, have requested our support to digitise their paper systems and offer a hand around the office. We’re going to be updating on the teams progress throughout the week on our social media channels, so make sure to follow along.

If you want support with Employer Supported Volunteering, either as a private company looking to utilise their corporate social responsibility or as a charity wanting to welcome employees as volunteers – let us know. We can support you to think creatively about how you deliver ESV, or how you host ESV volunteers. We can also act as a brokerage between organisations, making sure the values of the private company are matched with the right cause. To discuss please contact nnorton@hull-cvs.co.uk
