East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) is the Volunteer Centre for the East Riding and holds the Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation (VCQA). We provide support to the local voluntary and community sector as an infrastructure organisation and offer a volunteer brokerage service.
As a registered charity, our aim is to provide high quality services that link volunteers to organisations for mutual benefit. We support people that want to volunteer, and volunteer involving organisations by offering training, advice and guidance on volunteering matters. We consider ourselves experts in this area.
The benefit of using local Volunteer Centre Services is that we are part of the national network, so we can directly support the local sector, using learning from the rest of the UK. This leads to improving the lives of people in our community and sustaining the support that local groups and organisations can provide.
The Volunteer Centre provides two distinct services for volunteer involving organisations. The Volunteer Brokerage Service helps organisations to find volunteers and the Volunteer Development Service supports organisations to deliver high quality volunteer programmes through provision of training, quality accreditation, advice, guidance and quarterly Volunteer Managers Network meetings.
